Thanks for the great ideas, Derek! I am sending my son a care basked with some fun stuff in it. The Big Ticket Item is a Nexus 7 and now I think I am going to include a couple of those styluses. Before I send the tablet out I am going to download the DISH Remote Access app. He called me the other day and said, “Dad, you work at DISH, right? Do you know of a way I can get TV without a DISH or paying for the dorms cable?” I played dumb and said no, but of course I knew a way. With the DRA app he will be able to stream any of our live TV channels from our Hopper DVR at home to wherever he is. He can even stream any of the junk he has piled up on the DVR. I guess there was a reason I didn’t delete all of that stuff the day he left for school. Looking at that Kindle and its case tells me that I should probably get the Nexus some kind of case as well.

Thanks, Hunter. The Nexus 7 is a great buy – a lean and mean 7″ tab that’s shaking things up. I had the chance to use one last week. The GUI enhancements in Jelly Bean are a huge improvement over previous Android builds. Glad you’re into the micro stylus. They look like a cool solution for small devices & make good use of the 3.5mm jack. I’ll have to check out that APP as it looks like a great way to stream content on your tablet. A case is always a good idea & there are plenty of inexpensive options to protect your investment.

      Cheers, Derek
